Medical carts are often kept locked until they are used during an emergency or procedure, in order to ensure the accuracy of their contents. Unfortunately, this means clinicians cannot simply open and explore these carts whenever it is convenient for them, making it difficult to competently and confidently know what is contained and where items are located.
